LLB Internship Programme
The LLB Internship Programme, launched by the Department of Justice, provides young law students with practical experience in research and referencing in specialized areas of justice delivery, such as Tele-Law and Nyaya Bandhu. Eligible students, who must be in their 2nd to 5th year of law studies, may receive an honorarium of ₹ 5,000 and a Certificate of Internship upon successful completion.

Ministry of Law and Justice under the Department of Justice (DoJ) has introduced an Internship Programme named "LLB Internship Programme" for young law students. The purpose of this Programme is to well acquaint young law students with the working of Department of Justice by giving training in the field of research & referencing work, in various specialized areas of justice delivery, such as:-
- Access to Justice (Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, Legal Aid, Pro Bono Legal Services);
- e-Courts services;
- Fast Track Special Courts;
- National Mission for Justice Delivery & Legal Reforms and;
- CSS for Development of Infrastructure Facilities in the District and Subordinate Judiciary.
Duration:
Duration of internship ordinarily remain for a period of one month (four weeks).
Number of Interns:
The maximum number of interns to be allowed in a given monthly slots will be 10 candidates only subject to requirement of the Department.
Placement:
Each selected intern shall be posted with an officer of the level of Deputy Secretary/Director/Joint Secretary/ or the O/o Secretary, Department of Justice, O/o the Minister of State, Law & Justice (Independent Charge) with the approval of the Competent Authority.
Attendance:
For satisfactory completion inter-alia, 90% attendance is mandatory. This is a full-time internship to be attended physically.

Eligibility
Indian students who have completed :
- 2nd year of study and have written the examination to enter 3rd year or;
- studying in the 3rd year of three-year degree course or;
- the students studying in the 4th year who have written examination to enter 5th year or;
- studying in the 5th year of five-year degree course.
Exclusions
- The Internship is neither employment nor an assurance of employment with the Department.
- No TA/DA or remuneration other than Honorarium will be paid to the Interns by the Department of Justice.
- Candidates who have completed their internship with Department of Justice during earlier years and earlier Batches will not be considered for internship programme of the Department of Justice for the Current Financial Year.

- Each selected intern shall be posted with an officer of the level of Assistant Legal Adviser/Deputy Legal Adviser/ Additional Legal Adviser/Joint Secretary & Legal Adviser/Additional Secretary/O/o the Law Secretary/ O/o the Minister of State (Law & Justice)/ O/o Minister of Law & Justice/Branch Secretariats and the Law Officers of Govt. of India with the approval of the Competent Authority.
- Students From Which Education Streams Can Apply For This Internship?
- The students of Law streams may undertake internships in the Department.
- What Shall Be The Deliverables On The Part Of The Interns?
- At the end of the Internship Programme, all the interns will be required to submit a report on the work undertaken in this Department.
- Can School Students Also Apply For This Internship?
- The applicant should be ANY ONE of the following - 1. An Indian student pursuing studies in the 2nd/3rd year of a three-year degree course from any recognized college/law school/university. 2. An Indian student pursuing studies in the 3rd/4th/5th year of a five-year degree course from any recognized college/law school/university. 3. An Indian student who has completed his/her LLB course from any recognized college/law school/university.
- How Many Interns Are Taken In A Month?
- The maximum number of interns to be allowed in a given month will be between 10 and 30.
- What Shall Be The Duration Of The Internship?
- The duration of the internship ordinarily remains for a period of one month.
- Will Library Facility Be Provided By The DoLA To The Interns?
- Library Facility at the Main Secretariat is limited to referencing only; borrowing of books/journals is not extended to the interns. However, photocopies may be obtained from the Library.
- Does This Internship Guarantee Placement In DoLA?
- There will be no commitment to the placement of interns in the Ministry/Department or allied/ subordinate organizations.
- When Will The "Certificate Of Internship" Be Awarded To The Interns?
- Yes, on satisfactory completion of the internship, a Certificate of Internship shall be awarded.
