Advanced Vocational Training Scheme

The scheme "Advanced Vocational Training Scheme (AVTS)" has been launched by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. It aims to upgrade and update the skills of the industrial workforce through short-term modular training. Through this scheme, short-term training courses of 1 to 6 weeks are provided to industrial workers, technicians, supervisors, engineers, instructors, and technical students for skill upgradation. The scheme is implemented by National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), including NSTIs at Mumbai, Kanpur, Howrah, Hyderabad (Vidyanagar), Chennai, Hyderabad (Ramanthapur), Ludhiana, Dehradun, Calicut, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, and other centres. The training is offered in selected skill areas through regular and tailor-made courses designed as per the requirements of industries and establishments. The institute is equipped with workshops, laboratories, hostel facilities, and other infrastructure to support training. The scheme was launched in collaboration with UNDP/ILO and is delivered through modular courses to meet the training demands of industries and institutions.

Objective:

• To ensure a steady flow of skilled worker to the industries in different trades.
• To raise the quality and quantity of the industrial production by systematic training of potential workers.
• To enhance employability of educated youth for skilled and supervisory jobs through training.
• To upgrade and update the skills of technical personnels of industries, Govt. Departments and Organizations for diversification in production and keeping them abreast with the technological advancement.
• To conduct need-based training Program for industries, departments and organizations in the form of tailor-made programs.
• Rendering consultancy in training/production techniques.

Short-Term Skill Training:

• Training duration ranges from 1 week to 6 weeks.
• Courses are modular and industry-oriented.

Affordable Fee Structure:

• Application Fee: ₹100/- per participant per course

• Gymkhana Fee: ₹10/- per course

• Tuition Fee (Per Week):

  • Government Departments: ₹1,250/- (Regular), ₹2,500/- (Tailor-made)
  • Medium/Large Industries: ₹2,000/- (Regular), ₹4,000/- (Tailor-made)
  • Small Scale Industries/Private Candidates: ₹1,000/-
  • Technical Institutes: ₹1,000/- (Regular), ₹2,000/- (Tailor-made)
  • State Directorates: NIL

Hostel Facility:

• Limited hostel available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Charges: ₹100/- per day per participant.

Mode of Disbursement: Training services are provided directly through NSTIs at Mumbai, Kanpur, Howrah, Hyderabad (Vidyanagar), Chennai, Hyderabad (Ramanthapur), Ludhiana, Dehradun, Calicut, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, and other centres.

1. The applicant should have a minimum qualification of ITI, Diploma, or Engineering in the relevant trade or branch.
2. The applicant who is currently appearing in ITI/Diploma/Engineering may also apply.
3. The applicant may be an industrial worker, technician, supervisor, or engineer.
4. The applicant from government departments or the private sector with a technical qualification can apply.
5. The applicant from the public sector or private industry personnel may apply.
6. The applicant with experience in the relevant field may also take admission.

Offline

1. Identify the relevant AVTS short-term course from the course schedule.
2. Prepare nomination/application for the selected course.
3. Submit the nomination to NSTI at least 15 days before the course commencement.
4. Obtain the application form through the institute's communication (offline/official contact).
5. Make payment of the application fee of ₹100/- and the gymkhana fee of ₹10/-.
6. Prepare Demand Draft in favour of:

• “Drawing & Disbursing Officer (DDO), RDAT-UP”, payable at NSTI.

1. Submit the Demand Draft at the time of admission or pay through the available online mode.
2. Report to NSTI on the course start date.
3. Pay the tuition fee on the first day of course commencement.
4. If required, apply for hostel facility (subject to availability).
5. Attend training from 09:00 AM to 05:30 PM (Monday to Friday).
