The "Varanasi and Amritsar Yatra Scheme" is a scheme under the "Celebration of Birth Anniversaries of Great saints Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Guru Ravidas, Maharishi Valmiki and Sant Kabir Dass Jayanti Scheme", implemented by the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department, Government of Haryana. This scheme aims to facilitate pilgrimages to Varanasi and Amritsar for individuals belonging to the Scheduled Castes category. To support their spiritual and cultural engagement, the scheme provides financial reimbursement for second-class train travel, enabling eligible beneficiaries to undertake these religious journeys with ease.
Benefits
- - Reimbursement of ₹1,000/- or the actual cost of a second-class train ticket (to and fro) per person, whichever is less, will be provided. Note: This facility will be given one time only. Expected Time of Disbursement: Reimbursement will be made after the journey on the submission of railway tickets. Mode of Disbursement: Payment will be made directly into the bank account of the beneficiary

Application Process
Offline
The applicant shall contact the concerned Antodaya Bhawan for registration, along with the required documents and intimation of the expected date of journey for this purpose.
Notes:
- The number of persons are fixed for registration, i.e. 100 per constituency. Registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Reimbursement will be made after journey on the submission of railway tickets.
- The budget will be allotted to the District Welfare officers for this purpose.
