Transport Allowance

The Transport Allowance scheme aims to facilitate the inclusion of children with special needs in mainstream education from classes 1 to 12 in Rajasthan. It focuses on enhancing their inherent capabilities, providing educational and therapeutic support, eliminating discrimination, fostering positive societal attitudes, and raising awareness about their rights and abilities. The scheme provides transport allowance to children with special needs enrolled in government schools to assist them in commuting to school.

• Monthly transport allowance of ₹400 for a duration of 6 months
• Support for children with disabilities to access education
• Encouragement of inclusion in mainstream schools

Children with disabilities as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, who have 40% or more disability in categories such as orthopedic, visual impairment, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, and autism, and who possess a disability certificate issued by a competent medical authority. The scheme is applicable for students studying in classes 1 to 12 in government schools.
