A sanitation scheme for the construction of Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) for urban households. The Mission has the following components:
- Household toilets, including conversion of insanitary latrines into pour-flush latrines.
- Community toilets
- Public toilets
- Solid waste management
- IEC & Public Awareness
- Capacity building and Administrative & Office Expenses (A&OE)

Eligibility
Any household that does not have access to an individual household toilet ( 80% of urban households engaging in open defecation) or has an insanitary toilet.

Online
- Applicant creates an Applicant Login ID by registering on IHHL using Name , Mobile Number , Email , Address , ID Type, ID Number.
- After successful login the applicant enters the following details
- In Geographical Particulars (State, District, ULB Name, Ward No.)
- Toilet Owner’s Particulars (Name*, Gender*, Father/ Husband’s Name*, Mobile No*, Residential Address*, Status of Existing Toilet, Aadhar Linked Transfer of Incentive, Aadhar Number, Bank Account Detail*, Photograph*)
- After successful submission of Application, An IHHL Application Acknowledgement slip is generated with Application ID and Bank Account Detail

- How will I receive my financial support under the Scheme?
- All financial incentives will be deposited directly (by electronic clearing service) into the bank accounts of the beneficiary households (including accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana). No cash/cheque disbursals shall take place.
- Will I receive the entire amount in one go if I am eligible for the scheme?
- No, 50% of the incentive will be released on approval by the ULB. Remaining 50% of Central Government incentive as 2nd instalment should be released to the identified beneficiary household upon verification of physical progress of construction of the household toilet.
