The scheme “Subsidy to Purchase E-Bike for Journalists” by the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, aims to provide journalists based in Goa with e-bikes at a subsidised rate, facilitating easier access to essential technology for their profession. Benefits

  • - Subsidy up to 50% of the value on quotation or ₹50,000/-, whichever is less, and the remaining 50% value shall be borne by the beneficiaries
  • The payment shall be effected directly to the beneficiaries upon receipt of the purchase of the e-bike document

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a journalist.
  • The sole livelihood of the applicant should be through journalistic activities.
  • The applicant should be residing in Goa for at least 15 years.
  • The applicant should be working for a Media organisation.
  • The applicant should not be more than 58 years of age.
  • The applicant should not have availed benefit to purchase an e-bike (two-wheeler) under any other Government scheme.

Exclusions

Beneficiaries who have availed the benefit from any other such Government schemes shall not be entitled to this scheme.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and enclose the copies of all the mandatory documents (endorsed, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the Director, Department of Information and Publicity, Udyog Bhavan, 3rd floor, Panaji.

Post-Application Processes

Step 1: After approval of the application, the Beneficiary will have to provide purchased documents (Registration Certificate book and insurance) along with bank details to release the subsidy directly to the beneficiary.
Step 2: The Screening Committee, constituted under the Chairmanship of the Director of Information and Publicity, will scrutinize/sanction applications and may ask for additional documents if required.
Step 3: The subsidy will be disbursed in a single instalment upon purchase of the vehicle and production of the necessary documents.
