The Student Safety Accident Insurance Scheme provides compensation to students studying in classes 1 to 8 in government primary schools in case of injury or death due to an accident. The scheme was initiated in 1996 and amended in 2011, ensuring that students from all categories, including Economically Weaker Sections (EWC), are covered.

पात्रता

To apply, the claim for death or other physical injury must be submitted in the prescribed format by the school principal through the District Education Officer to the district-level officer of the State Insurance Department within three months of the incident. Required documents include a medical certificate for the accident and a death certificate in case of death.
