The Student Safety Accident Insurance Scheme provides compensation to students studying in classes 1 to 8 in government primary schools in case of injury or death due to an accident. The scheme was initiated in 1996 and amended in 2011, ensuring that students from all categories, including Economically Weaker Sections (EWC), are covered.
