The Shaadi Anudan Yojana is a financial assistance scheme initiated by the Uttar Pradesh Government for the marriage of daughters from economically weaker families belonging to Scheduled Castes and the General Category. Launched in the financial year 2016-17, the scheme aims to support the marriage of daughters from poor families by providing a grant of ₹20,000 per marriage. The assistance is limited to a maximum of two weddings per family. The scheme is designed to alleviate the financial burden on families that fall below the poverty line, with specific income thresholds set for urban and rural areas.

पात्रता

Applicants must belong to the Scheduled Caste or General Category and have an annual income below the poverty line (₹56,460 for urban areas and ₹46,080 for rural areas). The daughter must be at least 18 years old and the groom at least 21 years old. Applicants receiving old age, widow, or disability pensions do not need to provide an income certificate. Scheduled Caste applicants must provide their caste certificate number.

अपवर्जन

Applications filed in the financial year due to technical reasons or budget constraints will not be eligible for financial assistance until the next financial year.

आवेदन प्रक्रिया

Online

  1. Register on the Shadi Anudan portal at shadianudan.upsdc.gov.in using your Aadhaar number.
  2. Complete the online application through Aadhaar authentication.
  3. Submit a signed hard copy of the application to the office of the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate (urban) or Block Development Officer (rural) within 7 days.
  4. Ensure you have the necessary documents: Aadhaar card, caste certificate (if applicable), income certificate, bank passbook, and marriage card.
