Details
The scheme "Scheme to Encourage Students for Innovative Projects" was framed by the Department of Science and Technology and Waste Management (DS&T&WM), Government of Goa. The scheme aims to transform innovative student ideas into scalable projects that drive rapid economic growth, increased productivity, and social transformation. The scheme provides financial support of up to ₹50,000/- to deserving students on a need-cum-merit basis for prototyping their technology-based innovative project ideas. The scheme is implemented through the Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC). The applications for this scheme are accepted online.
Benefits
- - Financial support of up to ₹50,000/-
- A maximum of 10 projects will be supported through this scheme each financial year
- The financial assistance shall be permitted to be utilized only for student academic projects

Eligibility
The applicant must be a student from an Educational Institute in Goa.
The applicant must be one of the following -
(a) A final year student or a group of students working on a college project. (b) A High School or Higher Secondary School student working on a school project participating either in State or National level competitions.The applicant must be working on a hardware or software-based Product/Process Innovation.
The applicant must be registered under the Virtual Innovation Register (VIR) as a New Idea.
The applicant must not already have received financial support under this scheme.
The proposed innovative idea/ project in the form of a product/solution must be associated either with Academics, Industry or the Government.
The proposals should preferably be in the following focus sectors: Green technology, Clean energy, Industrially utilizable smart materials, Waste to Wealth, Affordable Healthcare, Water & Sewage Management, Renewable Energy sources, Electric Vehicles, Smart Cities, Agri-tech, Meditech, Health care tech, and Digital media, Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES).

Steps for New Registration
Step 1: Visit the Official Portal. At the right pane of the landing page, click "Register".
Step 2: On the registration page, fill in all mandatory fields. Create a Password (confirm the password by typing again). Fill in the Captcha Code, and click "Register".
Step 3: A confirmation pop-up will display. Upon successful registration, the User ID and Password will be sent to your registered mobile number via SMS. If an email address has been provided, the credentials will also be sent via email.
Steps for Scheme Application
Step 1: Visit the Official Portal. At the right pane of the landing page, click "Login".
Step 2: After logging in and completing the profile, the system displays schemes relevant to the user on the homepage. Click on the name of the scheme that you intend to apply for. You will be redirected to the online application form of the scheme. The application form may be divided into multiple tabs.
Step 3: In the form, fill in all the mandatory fields and upload all the mandatory documents in the specified format and size.
Step 4: Carefully review all the information provided and the documents uploaded. Make any necessary corrections. Click the "Submit" button to submit your application. You'll receive a confirmation message.
Post-Application Processes
Step 1: Selection Committee Scrutiny
- The proposal will be scrutinized, examined, and approved by the Selection Committee, which consists of three Members appointed by the Chairman of the Goa State Innovation Council.
- The Selection Committee shall hold periodic meetings for the assessment and selection of innovative student projects.
Step 2: Receiving Decision Intimation
- The intimation of the Committee's decision regarding the selection of the project shall be sent to the applicants via email.
- This notification is scheduled to be sent within 14 working days from the date of the Selection Committee meeting or decision.
Step 3: Financial Assistance Release Process
- Following selection, the Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC) should forward the decision of the Selection Committee, duly approved by the Chairman, to the Department of Science and Technology and Waste Management (DS&T&WM).
- This action initiates the further process required to release the financial assistance to the selected applicants or beneficiaries.
Disbursement to Institution
- The financial assistance, which is disbursed as a single installment, will be deposited in the beneficiary institute’s bank account.
- This requires the institution to submit a pre-receipt for the sanctioned amount to the Director, Department of Science and Technology and Waste Management (DS&T&WM).
