The scheme “Scheme for Loan and Subsidy for Manure and Fertilizer” has been implemented by the Agriculture Department, UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It aims to encourage the use of fertilizers so as to improve productivity. Through this scheme, manure and fertilizers are provided to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and non-SC/ST small and marginal farmers having land holdings up to 2 hectares on subsidy-cum-loan basis. The scheme is implemented by the Agriculture Department through field-level functionaries. Manures and fertilisers are provided to eligible cultivators on a 40% subsidy and 60% loan basis. The assistance is given in kind and not in cash. The quantity of fertilizers is limited as per the prescribed crop-wise rates. The scheme focuses on supporting small and marginal farmers to enhance agricultural output.

- The applicant should be a cultivator or farmer.
- The applicant should belong to categories such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), or original farmers (as mentioned).
- The applicant should have a land holding of up to 2 hectares.
- The applicant should be engaged in agricultural activities requiring fertilisers or manure.
Application Process
Offline
- The applicant should approach the Gram Sevak of the respective village.
- The applicant should submit the application through the Gram Sevak.
- The Gram Sevak forwards the application to the Agriculture Officer.
- The Agriculture Officer verifies eligibility and sanctions assistance (up to ₹2,000/-).
- If the value exceeds ₹2,000/-, approval is taken from the Chief Agriculture Officer.
- Fertilizers/manure are provided in kind to the applicant.
- After usage, the Gram Sevak verifies and submits a Utilization Certificate.
- The loan component is recovered in one instalment after completion of the crop season.
- In case of misuse, recovery is initiated with interest as arrears of land revenue.
