The “Sardar Patel National Unity Award” scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The objective of the Award is to recognize the notable and inspiring contributions made by the citizens/ institutions/ organizations of India to promote the cause of national unity and integrity and to reinforce the value of a strong and united India.Z

  5. The applicant should have notable achievements in strengthening unity and harmony.
  6. The applicant should have contributions that inspire others to promote national integration.
  7. The applicant should not provide unverified or false claims regarding achievements.

Application Process

Step 01: Visit the National Awards Portal: https://www.awards.gov.in
Step 02: Register/Login using the official credentials of the recommending authority
Step 03: Fill in the nomination form with complete details
Step 04: Upload required documents, including citation and verification certificate

Post-application Process

Step 01: The Screening Committee constituted in the Ministry of Home Affairs reviews the nominations for eligibility and completeness.
Step 02: The committee prepares profiles and verifies the authenticity of contributions.
Step 03: Shortlisted nominations are placed before the Award Committee for final selection.
Step 04: Selected candidates undergo verification by Government investigating agencies.
Step 05: Final approval is granted by the President of India. The award is announced on National Unity Day (31st October).

State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, and Central Ministries may also submit recommendations online.
