Details
The Rejuvenation of Senile Orchards scheme aims to enhance productivity in fruit orchards by removing old and senile trees and replanting new stock. The scheme provides a subsidy of 50% of the cost, up to a maximum of ₹20,000 per beneficiary, with a limit of two grants per beneficiary. The program targets orchards that have seen reduced productivity due to lack of nutrition or pest diseases. The rejuvenation process includes identifying low-yield orchards, improving tree density, nutrition, management practices, and quality of production. Various activities are supported under this scheme, including the provision of planting materials, pruning of old trees, and the use of fertilizers and pest control measures. The subsidy is disbursed in a maximum of three installments during the financial year, and beneficiaries must display information about the rejuvenated orchards.
