- i. In the Award Ceremony the Awardees shall be presented a Sanad (certificate) signed by the Hon'ble Union Minister (Agriculture & Farmers Welfare) & President
- ICAR. A commemorative brochure containing the citation and photograph of the awardees shall also be released on the day of the ceremony. ii. The decoration to such persons who are not able to attend the award ceremony due to personal reasons (including indisposition preoccupation etc.) shall be deemed to have been conferred. No other person (including the spouse/next of kin) should be allowed to receive the award on behalf of the absentee awardee except in posthumous cases

- The applicant applying for the women scientist category should be a woman working in agriculture or allied fields, and must be below 60 years of age.
- The applicant applying for the young scientist category should have a doctoral degree, hold a regular position, and must be below 45 years of age.
