Beneficiaries can receive cash remuneration and printed copies, with specific provisions for deceased, inactive, and active Tiatr artistes, ensuring the preservation of this cultural heritage.

Details
The scheme "Preservation of Tiatr Literature" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to preserve the literature related to Tiatr/Khell Tiatr/Khell, their scripts, lyrics of songs (kantaram), music, scripts of one-act plays, and encourage script writers and lyricists to publish their works in book form. The scheme addresses the issue that, although thousands of tiatrs have been produced and staged and songs (kantaram) composed and sung over the decades, not many books of Tiatr/Khell tiatr/Khell/One Act Plays scripts and lyrics of songs (Kantaram) have been published. The scheme provides printing of scripts of tiatrs/khell tiatrs/khells, one-act plays, lyrics of kantaram with or without music in book form in Konkani in Roman Script, and payment of honorarium along with free copies to eligible writers.

- Tiatr Academy of Goa will print scripts of tiatrs/khell tiatrs/khells, one-act plays, lyrics of kantaram with or without music in book form in Konkani in Roman Script
- Minimum of 500 copies of each book will be printed. Category-wise Benefits Category I (Deceased or Inactive Tiatr Artistes)
- One-time honorarium as fixed by Tiatr Academy of Goa for each tiatr script/anthology of songs 25 copies of books will be given to the writer or legal heir
- Books will be published by Tiatr Academy of Goa from its funds allotted to the scheme. Category II (Active Tiatr Artistes) 200 books will be given to the artiste
- One-time honorarium as fixed by Tiatr Academy of Goa for each tiatr script/anthology of songs
- Books will be published by Tiatr Academy of Goa from its funds allotted to the scheme. Category III (Individual Artiste/Publisher Self-Publishing) 100% of the cost of printing will be paid by Tiatr Academy of Goa on proper verification of rates
- Must give 100 books to Tiatr Academy of Goa free of cost
- Not entitled for any honorarium from Tiatr Academy of Goa. Conditions The manuscript must adhere to traditional formats as approved by Tiatr Academy of Goa. There should not be any adverse remark made in any form either written or verbal against any Governments/Individuals/Institutions or anything against caste, creed and religion in the scripts/lyrics of songs which may hurt the sentiments of anybody. If proved to contain adverse remarks, Tiatr Academy of Goa reserves the right not to print the book and refrain from making payment or recall the payment made to the concerned

Eligibility
General Eligibility
The applicant must be a tiatr artiste or the legal heir of a deceased tiatr artiste.
Category-wise Eligibility
Category I:
- The applicant must be a tiatr artiste who has expired or is living but not active on the tiatr stage.
- The applicant must submit scripts of Tiatr/Khell tiatr/Khell/One Act Plays.
- The applicant must have a minimum collection of 50 songs with or without musical scores if submitting only songs (kantaram).
Category II:
- The applicant must be a tiatr artist who is active on the tiatr stage.
- The applicant must submit scripts of Tiatr/Khell tiatr/Khell/One Act Plays.
- The applicant must have a minimum collection of 100 songs with or without musical scores if submitting only songs (kantaram).
Category III:
- The applicant must be an individual artist/publisher who wishes to publish Scripts of Tiatr/Khell tiatr/Khell/One Act Plays on his/her own.
- The applicant must ensure the book conforms to all norms of the scheme.
Preference
Scripts/lyrics/music written by tiatr artistes of yesteryears will be given first preference.
Application Process
Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields: name of the applicant. Attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required). Sign the application form and mention the date.
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to -

*Applicants are advised to save a copy of the submitted application form and any acknowledgment.
Post-Application Processes
Step 1: Recommendation Board Review
The submitted manuscript will be reviewed by the Recommendation Board consisting of 2 members appointed by Tiatr Academy of Goa who will recommend whether the books can be published or not.
Step 2: Approval and Soft Copy Submission
If approved by the Recommendation Board, submit a soft copy of the manuscript on a Compact Disc/Digital Versatile Disc/pen drive to Tiatr Academy of Goa.
Step 3: Editorial Review
The approved manuscript will be edited by a member of Editorial Board for spelling and orthography checking.
Step 4: Publication Process
Upon successful completion of all review processes, Tiatr Academy of Goa will proceed with printing minimum 500 copies of the book in Konkani in Roman Script.
Step 5: Benefit Distribution
Receive the designated benefits as per the applicable category including honorarium payment and free book copies as specified in the scheme guidelines.
