Details
The traditional, artistic, and fashionable textiles of Rajasthan hold a unique place not only within the state but also in various cities and regions across the country. Tourists from outside show a deep interest in Rajasthan's textiles. In this context, participation in fairs and exhibitions proves to be very important and effective in promoting the handicraft industry across various sectors. Additionally, fairs and exhibitions provide a good platform for small textile producers, weavers, printers, and related artisans to sell and showcase their products at fair prices. It is noteworthy that small artisans and weavers in the state are not capable of organizing fairs and exhibitions on their own. Under this proposed program, the corporation will facilitate marketing support for poor weavers, printers, and artisans by participating in or organizing fairs and exhibitions at various levels: 1. National level fairs and exhibitions. 2. Exhibitions/fairs held in divisional level cities. 3. District level exhibitions and fairs. 4. Sales and exhibitions organized in suitable towns during major festivals throughout the year. In these fairs/exhibitions, the corporation will showcase various new textiles developed and produced under design development and other programs, making them available to consumers at reasonable prices. The corporation will also work to promote the sale of products by involving suitable and interested weavers and artisans.
