The scheme "Organization of Sports Competitions and Training Programs" was launched by the Department of Youth Welfare and prantiy rakshak dal (PRD), Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sports and identify grassroots-level talent among youth through structured competitions and training.

  • During the competitions, talented players who perform best at the Block Development levels and District levels are identified by the department and provided free training prior to state-level participation.

  1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
  2. The applicant must be a youth (boy or girl).

Application Process

Offline

  • The Khel Mahakumbh is usually held between October and December. Newspapers provide information about the competitions at the Gram Panchayat/Nyaya Panchayat level, and interested participants are invited to take part through forms distributed by government schools, the Youth Welfare Department, and the Sports Department.
  • To participate, players must possess a photo identity card or birth certificate, a bank account, a permanent residence certificate, and a passport-size photograph. With these documents, players can compete in the Khel Mahakumbh at the village or Nyaya Panchayat level.
  • Players securing first, second, and third positions at this level advance to the Block Development level. Similarly, the top three players at the Block Development level proceed to the District level, and the top three at the District level qualify for the State level competition.
