- Boys who have dropped out of school because a middle school is not available within a 3 km radius or a high school/higher secondary school is not available within a 5 km radius of their village.
- Boys who are identified as (Classes 1-8):
- School Dropouts
- Out-of-School/Non-enrolled
- Destitute/Homeless
- Orphans
- Single-Parent Children
- Divyang (Physically disabled/Orthopedically handicapped)
- Boys identified as school dropouts and out-of-school shall be admitted to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Hostel.
- Children from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Ashram Schools that are at the primary level may also be admitted to the hostel.
- Local resident boys shall not be admitted to the hostel.
