National Horticulture Mission-Organic Farming

The National Horticulture Mission-Organic Farming aims to promote organic farming in horticultural crops in response to the increasing demand for organically produced food. The scheme provides a subsidy of 50% of the cost, with a maximum of ₹10,000 per hectare per beneficiary for up to 4 hectares over three years, distributed in a ratio of 40:30:30. The first year provides ₹4,000, while the second and third years provide ₹3,000 each. The program is linked to organic farming certification, with a grant of ₹5 lakh for a cluster of 50 hectares, disbursed over three years. Farmers must have their own land (at least one hectare), livestock, water, and organic materials, and must agree to produce crops organically for three consecutive years.

Farmers must meet the following criteria:

1. Own at least one hectare of land, livestock, water, and organic materials.

3. Be willing to connect with a certification agency for organic farming certification.
4. Commit to using organic agricultural practices for all crops in the selected field.
5. Preference will be given to organic villages and farmers involved in organic farming.

Farmers not meeting the eligibility criteria or those not willing to adopt organic practices are excluded.
