The National Horticulture Mission-Organic Farming scheme aims to promote organic farming in horticultural crops in response to the increasing demand for organically produced food. The scheme provides a subsidy of 50% of the cost, with a maximum of ₹10,000 per hectare per beneficiary for up to 4 hectares over three years, distributed in a ratio of 40:30:30. The first year provides ₹4,000, while the second and third years provide ₹3,000 each. The program is linked to organic farming certification, with a grant of ₹5.00 lakh for a cluster of 50 hectares for certification, distributed as ₹1.50 lakh in the first year, ₹1.50 lakh in the second year, and ₹2.00 lakh in the third year.

Eligibility

  1. Farmers must own at least 1 hectare of land, have livestock, water, and organic materials available.
  2. Farmers must agree to produce crops using organic methods for three consecutive years.
  3. Farmers must agree to connect with a certification agency for organic farming certification.
  4. Farmers must agree to follow organic agricultural practices for all crops in the selected field.
  5. Preference will be given to organic villages and farmers involved in organic farming.
