The objective of the National Award for Excellence in Vocational Training & Entrepreneurship Development, under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, is to honor excellence among faculty, trainers, and master trainers in long-term and short-term training as well as entrepreneurship development, who have achieved outstanding performance and set benchmarks for others to emulate.

A total of sixteen awards will be conferred each year. There shall be five award categories as per the details below:

  1. Category I: Best Skill Trainers – Long Term Training (09 Awards)
  2. Sub Category (i): Best Skill Trainer in top 5 trades under CTS in ITIs - 05
  3. Sub Category (ii): Best Skill Trainer in remaining engineering trades - 01
  4. Sub Category (iii): Best Skill Trainer in remaining non-engineering trades - 01
  5. Sub Category (iv): Best Skill Trainer Divyang trades - 01

Eligibility

Category I & III: Best Skill Trainers and Master Trainers – Long-Term Training

  1. The applicant should be engaged as a trainer or master trainer on a regular basis.
  2. The applicant should have at least five years of full-time experience at CTS and/or CITS, as applicable.
  3. The applicant should not be above 55 years of age on the last date of receiving applications.
  4. The applicant should not have received any category of the Kaushalacharya Award or National Award for Excellence in Vocational Training & Entrepreneurship Development in previous years.

Category II & IV: Best Skill Trainers and Master Trainers – Short-Term Training

  1. The applicant should be engaged as a trainer or master trainer on a regular basis.
  2. The applicant should not be above 55 years of age on the last date of receiving applications.
  3. The applicant should be a registered trainer on Skill India Digital Hub from a government institution with valid certification (at least up to October 2025) and delivering/have delivered short-term training programs.
  4. The applicant should be a certified trainer/master trainer from an awarding body with valid certification (at least up to October 2025) and delivering/have delivered short-term training programs.
  5. The applicant should not have received any category of the Kaushalacharya Award or National Award for Excellence in Vocational Training & Entrepreneurship Development in previous years.
  6. The applicant should apply under only one category.

Category V: Excellence in Entrepreneurship Development

  1. The applicant should be a regular faculty member engaged in teaching entrepreneurship development programs/courses in a University/College/Institution recognized by UGC/AICTE or institutes established by an Act of Parliament.
  2. The applicant should be engaged on a regular basis in the implementation of entrepreneurship development programs in Central or State Government institutions, including autonomous institutions.
  3. The applicant should have at least five years of full-time experience.
  4. The applicant should not be above 55 years of age on the last date of receiving applications.
  5. The applicant should not have received any category of the Kaushalacharya Award or National Award for Excellence in Vocational Training & Entrepreneurship Development in previous years.
