The scheme “Mukhyamantri Udeeyman Khiladi Unnayan Chhatravriti Yojana” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sports among talented children aged 8 to 14 years in Uttarakhand by providing monthly scholarships.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
  2. The applicant must be a boy or girl between 8 and 14 years of age.
  3. The boy or girl who obtain the highest marks based on merit in the final district-level competition, conducted through various stages of the Physical and Sports Aptitude Test (P-SAT) assessing physical abilities such as strength, flexibility, endurance, speed, and coordination, will be eligible for the sports scholarship.

Application Process

Offline

  • The Sports Directorate will publish the selection schedule through an advertisement in April. The selection process is typically completed between May 15 and June 15 each year, and information regarding the venue and dates will be provided by the respective District Sports Officer.
  • A maximum of two boys and two girls from each school (government, non-government, or private) will be eligible to participate in each age group. The selection of these students will be carried out by the respective schools themselves. There will be no compulsion to conduct the Physical and Sports Aptitude Test (P-SAT) at the school level; however, schools will be informed about this method through wide publicity so that players are aware of the process at the initial stage.
  • Further process – The subsequent selection is conducted by the districts at the Nyaya Panchayat, Municipality, Municipal Corporation, Block Development, and district levels:

  • Six competitions will be organized to test physical efficiency (1. 30-meter flying run, 2. Standing broad jump, 3. Forward bend and reach, 4. 6×10 shuttle run, 5. Medicine ball put, 6. 600-meter run)
  • The district-level selection committee will prepare a final list of 25 boys and 25 girls in each age group who secure the highest marks based on merit. These selected players will be eligible for the sports scholarship, which will be directly transferred to their bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
  • Documents Required: It is mandatory to register candidates at the Nyaya Panchayat or ward level. The application form is available on the Sports Department’s website. Along with the application form, candidates must submit their Aadhaar card, birth certificate, permanent residence certificate, bank account details, and a passport-size photograph.
