Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana is a flagship social welfare initiative launched by the Himachal Pradesh government on February 16, 2023. The scheme aims to provide comprehensive care, education, and support to orphans, abandoned children, specially-abled individuals, destitute women, and senior citizens, recognizing them as “children of the state” and ensuring their holistic development.
Objectives

  1. Declare orphans and abandoned children as state children and ensure their care, education, and social security.
  2. Empower destitute women and elderly individuals through financial assistance, housing, and skill development.
  3. Provide inclusive support covering health, education, housing, livelihood, and marriage.

लाभ

  • 1. Children Aged 0-14 Years: ₹1 000per month for general maintenance. 1. Children Aged 14-18 Years and Destitute Women: ₹2 500per month. 1. Young Adults Aged 18-27 Years: ₹4 000per month pocket allowance; up to ₹1 00 000annually for coaching and hostel fees; ₹3 000per month for PG rent where hostels are unavailable. 1. Housing Support: 3 bighas of land and ₹3 00 000for house construction. 1. Marriage Support: ₹2 00 000as marriage assistance for eligible beneficiaries. 1. Self-Employment Support: ₹2 00 000one-time grant to start a business or profession. 1. Educational Exposure Tour: 15-day annual educational tour including air travel and 3-star hotel accommodation

पात्रता

  1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.
  2. Orphans, abandoned, or specially-abled children under 27 years of age.
  3. Destitute women who are either unmarried or whose husbands have been missing for over 7 years.
  4. Senior citizens who do not have any support are also eligible under this scheme.
