विवरण

The Journalist Mediclaim Insurance Policy Facility was initiated by the state government for accredited journalists. The scheme was first notified on February 22, 2010, under the 'Rajasthan State Accredited Journalist Medical Facility Scheme 2009', providing a mediclaim coverage of ₹1 lakh. In subsequent budget announcements, the coverage amount was increased to ₹2 lakh in 2012-13, ₹5 lakh in 2013-14, and ₹10 lakh in 2014-15. By 2016-17, options for ₹2 lakh, ₹5 lakh, and ₹10 lakh policies were made available. The scheme was made cashless for accredited journalists starting March 1, 2018. Under the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, the cashless mediclaim coverage was increased to ₹5 lakh in 2021-22 and further to ₹10 lakh in 2022-23, with registrations for eligible journalists being completed and premium payments processed.
