The Karnataka Social Welfare Department provides an incentive to promote intra-caste marriages within different sub-castes of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The scheme offers ₹2,00,000/- for such marriages, with an option for ₹1,50,000/- if the simple marriage grant is availed. This initiative aims to reduce casteism and foster unity within SC/ST communities in Karnataka.

  • Incentive Amount:
  • ₹2,00,000/- if an SC/ST boy or girl marries a person from a different SC/ST sub-caste
  • ₹1,50,000/- if the couple has availed of the simple marriage grant. Subsidy Disbursement: The incentive is provided in two installments:

Eligibility

  • The couple should belong to different sub caste of SC.
  • The bride and groom should be residing in Karnataka.
  • The family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹2,00,000/-.
  • The age of the bride should be between 18 to 42 years at the time of marriage.
  • The age of the groom should be between 21 to 45 years at the time of marriage.

Exclusions

Recipients of incentives for inter-caste marriage or widow remarriage are not eligible for this scheme.

Application Process

Online

Step-01: First go to the official website and click " Incentives to Marriages".
Step-02: Select "Incentives to Inter-caste Marriages" and Click "Register"
Step-03: Using your "Aadhaar Card Number" Register with us providing all required Information.
Step-04: Upload all the relevant documents.
Step-05: After Registration, an SMS will be sent to the couple and they can print the acknowledgment form as proof of application.
Step-06: Social Welfare will do spot verification to verify the details provided by the couple and process the application further.
Step-07: After successful spot verification by the department, the incentive will be credited to the joint account of the couple.

NOTE: Application must be submitted within one year of marriage.
