Haryana Post Matric Scholarship For Minority

विवरण
Launched in June 2006 under the Prime Minister's New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities, the "Post-Matric Scholarship for Students Belonging to the Minority Communities" by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India aims to provide better opportunities for higher education to meritorious students from minority communities.
Through this scheme, scholarships including admission fees, tuition fees, and maintenance allowance ranging from ₹230 to ₹1,200 per month are provided to students from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Zoroastrian (Parsis) communities whose family income is less than ₹2,00,000 per annum. The State Government of Haryana implements the scheme in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs.
लाभ
- 1. Admission and Tuition Fee:
- Classes 11 and 12: Up to ₹7,000/- per annum
- Technical/Vocational Courses (11 and 12): Up to ₹10,000/- per annum
- Undergraduate/Postgraduate: Up to ₹3,000/- per annum 2. Monthly Maintenance Allowance (for 10 months): 1. Classes 11 and 12 (including technical courses):
- Hostellers: ₹380/- per month
- Day Scholars: ₹230/- per month 2. Undergraduate/Postgraduate (non-technical):
- Hostellers: ₹570/- per month
- Day Scholars: ₹300/- per month 3. M.Phil and Ph.D.:
- Hostellers: ₹1,200/- per month

पात्रता
- The applicant should belong to the Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Zoroastrian (Parsi) community.
- The applicant should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the previous final examination.
- The applicant's family annual income should not exceed ₹2,00,000/- from all sources.
- The applicant should be a regular student in a government or private higher secondary school/college/university.
- The applicant should not be availing of any other scholarship for the same purpose.
Preferences:
- Priority to students from BPL families.
- 30% of scholarships are earmarked for girl students.

आवेदन प्रक्रिया
Online
Step 1: Keep ready the soft copies of the required documents.
Go to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). and click “Apply Now”.
Guidelines for Registration will appear. Scroll to the bottom.
Read carefully the undertaking. Accept the Terms. Click “Continue”.
Step 2: A Registration Form will appear. (The fields marked as * are compulsory.)
Fill in the details and click “Register”.
Your Application ID and password will be displayed.
The same will also be sent as an SMS to your registered mobile number.
Step 3: Go to Login with OTR.
Click on “Login to Apply”. Enter your Application ID and password.
Type the Captcha and click “Login”.
On the next screen, provide the OTP received on your registered mobile number. You will be directed to the Password Reset screen.
Create a new password and confirm.
Click “Submit”. You will be directed to the “Applicant’s Dashboard”.
Step 4: On the left pane, click “Application Form." The fields marked as * are compulsory. Fill in the details and upload the documents.
You can either click on “Save as Draft” to complete the application later.
Else, click “Final Submit” to submit the application.

- Can a student from minority community who also belongs to SC/ST/OBC category apply for this scholarship?
- Students can apply but should choose only one scholarship scheme. The State Government constitutes a special committee to ensure students don't avail multiple scholarships for the same purpose.
- How does the hosteller category apply to students staying as paying guests in cities away from their hometown?
- Students staying as paying guests or in rented accommodation in towns/cities different from their parents' residence qualify as hostellers and are eligible for hosteller rates.
- What happens to the scholarship if I change my college in the middle of an academic year?
- Migration between institutions is generally not allowed during the academic year except under exceptional circumstances where it benefits the student's academic career, subject to authority approval.
- If my family income is just above ₹2,00,000 but I have excellent academic performance, can I still apply?
- No exceptions are made to the income limit of ₹2,00,000 per annum from all sources, regardless of academic performance.
- How is the maintenance allowance disbursed if I join the course in the middle of an academic year?
- The maintenance allowance is provided for a maximum of 10 months in an academic year, regardless of when you join the course.
- If there aren't enough eligible girl candidates, what happens to the 30% reserved scholarships?
- If sufficient eligible girl students are not available, the balance scholarships earmarked for girls may be awarded to eligible boy students.
- What is the process for scholarship renewal and are the criteria different from fresh applications?
- Renewal requires minimum 50% marks in the previous year's examination. Renewal applications are processed before new applications are considered.
- How is the selection made if there are more eligible candidates than available scholarships?
- Students from BPL families with lowest income are given preference in ascending order. Renewal applications are prioritized over fresh applications.
- How soon after admission do I need to apply for the scholarship?
- The application timeline is announced by the State Government/Union Territory through advertisements in leading newspapers and local dailies.
- Can I apply offline if I'm unable to access the National Scholarship Portal?
- No, it is mandatory for all students to apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (www.scholarships.gov.in).
