The Directorate of Information office provides an insurance cover to accredited journalists. In the event of natural death, the insurance cover is Rs. 2 Lakhs, and in the case of accidental death, it is Rs. 10 Lakhs.

Required attachments include Aadhar Card, Age Proof, Bank Pass Book/Cancelled Cheque, Court Judgement, Death Certificate, Identity Card, PANCHNAMU, PM Report, and School Leaving Certificate.
