Details
The scheme aims to establish new flower orchards by providing grants to farmers for expanding flower cultivation. A minimum area of 0.10 hectares is required for participation. The subsidy is based on the estimated cost of cultivation and varies by farmer category. For loose flowers like local roses, marigolds, and chrysanthemums, the estimated cost is ₹40,000 per hectare. Small and marginal farmers can receive a maximum of ₹16,000, while other farmers can receive up to ₹10,000. Selected farmers will receive technical literature on flower cultivation practices, marketing, maintenance, and usage. Seeds and planting materials should be sourced from recommended nurseries and centers of excellence. Fertilizers and plant protection chemicals should be obtained from cooperative societies. Soil and water testing is recommended for fertilizer application. The grant will first cover planting materials, and any remaining funds can be used for other inputs. The cost of organic manure will be calculated at ₹1.00 per kilogram for FYM and ₹1.50 per kilogram for vermicompost. A board displaying the farmer's name, address, year of establishment, total area, crop, and variety name must be placed in the newly established flower orchards.
