Details
The Area Expansion of Spices scheme aims to promote the cultivation of spice crops in areas where farming was not conducted in the previous year. The scheme provides financial assistance to farmers for expanding their spice crop area, with a minimum of 0.50 hectares and a maximum of 4 hectares eligible for subsidy. Farmers will receive 40% of the total cost of inputs, up to a maximum of ₹5,500 per hectare, for seeds, integrated nutrient management, pest and disease management, and other inputs. The scheme also includes provisions for the supply of seeds and other materials at subsidized rates through cooperative societies.

Eligibility
Farmers who wish to expand their spice crop area in regions where farming was not conducted in the previous year are eligible to apply. The scheme is open to all categories of farmers including SC, ST, OBC, General, and minorities.
