विवरण

The Anudanit Vidhyalaya scheme was established to combat the prevailing inequality, untouchability, and lack of access to education for children from the untouchable (Dalit) community. Initiated by Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on June 14, 1928, through the Depressed Classes Educational Society, the scheme aims to provide educational opportunities to children from historically disadvantaged and educationally backward classes, particularly Scheduled Castes. The scheme has evolved over the years, with various government orders and grants supporting the establishment and operation of schools dedicated to these communities. Currently, 392 schools are operational, employing 1,277 teachers for the 2025-26 academic year, ensuring that quality education continues despite challenges such as teacher shortages.
