The scheme "All Goa One-Act Play Competition in Konkani" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to attract youth towards dramatic activities and provide ample opportunities to showcase their talents in dramatics while promoting Goan culture through Konkani theatre. The scheme provides cash awards for the top 3 performances along with mementos and certificates, individual awards for various categories like direction, acting, music, and stage setting, and reimbursement of transport costs as per Regional Transport Office norms. The applicant must be an individual, club, or association capable of presenting a One-Act Play in Konkani with duration between 35 to 45 minutes, and must submit a typed copy of the play in Roman script along with written permission from the playwright. The scheme is implemented by Tiatr Academy of Goa. The applications for this scheme are accepted offline.

  • The applicant must be an individual, club, or association.
  • The applicant must present a One-Act Play in Konkani language.
  • The applicant must ensure the play duration is not less than 35 minutes and not more than 45 minutes.
  • The applicant must ensure participation only when at least 5 groups are participating in the competition.

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required). Sign the application form and mention the date.

*Applicants are advised to save a copy of the submitted application form and any acknowledgment.
*Applications are considered on a "First come First Serve" basis, subject to the availability of funds.
*Performance date and time will be determined by draw of lots.
*If applicant withdraws after schedule is drawn, full security deposit will be forfeited.

What happens if our group decides to withdraw from the competition after the performance schedule has been officially drawn and announced?
If you withdraw after the schedule is drawn by Tiatr Academy of Goa, your complete security deposit of ₹1,000/- will be forfeited and will not be returned. <br>
Can we submit our security deposit payment through a personal or organizational cheque along with our application form?
No, cheques are not accepted for security deposit payment. You must pay ₹1,000/- either in cash or through a demand draft in favour of Member Secretary, Tiatr Academy of Goa, payable at Panaji. <br>
What are the minimum and maximum time limits that our One-Act Play performance must strictly adhere to during the competition?
Your One-Act Play performance must be not less than 35 minutes and not more than 45 minutes in total duration. <br>
Are there any specific individual performance categories for which separate recognition awards will be presented during the competition?
Yes, individual awards with mementos will be given for Direction, Male Actor, Female Actor, Background Music, Stage Setting, Light Effects, Make-up, and Script categories. <br>

A maximum of 18 groups will be permitted to participate in the competition on a first come first serve basis. <br>
