The Youth Engagement through Empowered Youth Organisations (YESS Meghalaya) scheme, under the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, provides financial assistance to registered youth organisations and eligible individual youth to carry out activities that promote youth development. The scheme is designed to strengthen networking, collaboration, and meaningful community-level engagement.
Targeted Stakeholders
Financial assistance is extended to the following entities and individuals:

  1. Societies and Cooperatives
  2. Voluntary and Not-for-Profit Organisations
  3. Youth Clubs and Associations
  4. Socio-Cultural Clubs
  5. Alumni Associations
  6. Community-level Youth Institutions or Groups
  7. Individuals selected for competitions or events with valid proof of participation

Benefits

  • 1. Financial assistance of up to INR 1.00 lakh per financial year may be sanctioned to eligible youth organisations or individuals. 1. Up to 10% of the total applications may receive a higher amount of financial support

Eligibility

For Youth Organisations

  1. The organisation should be a registered society, trust, charitable organisation, Section 8 company, or not-for-profit entity under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 for at least 3 months.
  2. The organisation should maintain financial accounts with a clear framework for effective and transparent management.
  3. The organisation should have primary beneficiaries under the age of 35 and be open to all citizens of the state without distinction of religion, race, caste, or language.
  4. The organisation should have at least 50% of registered members under the age of 35 as of the application date.
  5. The organisation should not be blacklisted or barred by any government or private entity and should have no pending or ongoing litigation related to misconduct, misappropriation of funds, or sexual harassment.

For Individuals

  1. The applicant should be a citizen of Meghalaya and under the age of 35 as of the application date.
  2. The applicant should have a bank account in their name (single or joint account).
  3. The applicant should be able to provide proof of selection for the competition or event for which the grant is being requested.
