Details

The Very High Risk Pregnant Women Scheme aims to improve maternal and child health outcomes in the state. Out of an estimated 1.3 million pregnant women, approximately 150,000 are identified as likely to have at-risk deliveries based on various criteria. By identifying these women in advance and scheduling their deliveries at medical colleges or district hospitals, the maternal mortality rate can be significantly reduced. Additionally, ensuring a hospital stay of seven days post-delivery, rather than immediate discharge, can help lower child mortality rates by allowing for better health monitoring of both mother and child.
