Details
The "Valmiki Chhatravritti Yojana" by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Jharkhand, aims to provide financial assistance and encouragement to orphaned and differently-abled students to pursue higher education. Under this scheme, students receive full tuition fee reimbursement up to ₹10,00,000 annually and a monthly sustenance allowance of ₹4,000/- for daily needs and study materials.

Eligibility
General Criteria:
- The applicant must be a resident of Jharkhand state or must have passed class 10th from a recognized school in Jharkhand for diploma courses or should have passed classes 10th and 12th from recognized schools/colleges in Jharkhand for degree or higher-level courses.1. The applicant should be an orphaned/differently abled student.
- The applicant's age should not exceed 40 years as of the application deadline.
Institutional Criteria:
- Student enrolled in a recognized higher education institution in Jharkhand state or institutions ranked in the top 200 (overall category) or top 100 in discipline-specific categories in NIRF rankings or institutions with NAAC accreditation of 'A' grade or above or Institutes of National Importance or Institutions of Eminence.
- The applicant is not enrolled under the AICTE tuition fee waiver and is not a current beneficiary of similar central/state/institution schemes. Existing tuition fee waiver/assistance recipients can only receive benefits from one source.
Specific Criteria:
For Orphan Students:
- Defined under Section 2(42) of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
- Valid death certificates of parents and relationship proof verified by the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO).
For Differently-Abled Students:
- Benchmark disability as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
- Valid Unique Disability ID (UDID) card verified by the DSWO in coordination with the Chief Medical Officer.
Exclusions
- The applicant already benefiting from tuition fee waivers under AICTE schemes or other central/state government scholarships.
- The applicant receiving sustenance allowance from any other scheme must choose a single source of benefit.
Application Process
Online
Online Application:
- Visit the official portal managed by Jharkhand Space Applications Center.- Click on "Register" to fill mobile number, email ID, and generate a password.
- Get the activation link to your registered email ID and click on the link to get confirmation "Account has been activated successfully".
- Fill out the application form and upload the required documents.
- Submit the application for verification by the District Social Welfare Officer.
- Track the application status through the portal.
Approval and Disbursement:
- Tuition fees are transferred directly to the institution.
- Monthly sustenance allowance transferred to student bank account.
Renewal:
- Submit annual renewal requests through the portal with the previous year's mark sheet.
- Applicants must be promoted to the next academic year to remain eligible.
