The scheme aims to construct tribal ashram hostels to provide free residential facilities for tribal students in tribal-dominated areas of both tribal and non-tribal project districts. The operation of these hostels is managed by the Tribal Area Development Department. Additionally, college-level hostels are constructed with the consent of the College Education Department for the same purpose. The scheme also includes the construction of multipurpose hostels to prepare students for various competitive exams, skill development training, and personality development, thereby equipping them for employment. The operation of these hostels is also overseen by the Tribal Area Development Department.
