The Transport Voucher Facility aims to provide easy access to quality primary education for children aged 6-14 years living in sparsely populated areas where schools cannot be operated as per the prescribed standards. Since the academic year 2017-18, this scheme has been implemented for students from classes 1 to 8 in rural areas. Additionally, to increase enrollment rates for girls in education and reduce the gender gap, girls studying in classes 9 to 12 are also benefitted from this scheme. The transport voucher is provided to students who are enrolled in government schools and live beyond specified distances from their schools.
