The scheme "Tiatr Script Writing Competition" by the Tiatr Academy of Goa aims to encourage new generation of Tiatr playwrights to script better quality of Tiatrs and enrich the Konkani language through annual script writing competitions. The scheme provides cash prizes up to ₹15,000/- for winning scripts and opportunities for publication with honorarium payments, along with certificates for recognition of literary excellence in traditional Konkani theatre. The applicant must write original scripts in traditional tiatr format with minimum 6-7 podd'de and at least 4 Cantos, and must submit scripts that have not been published or performed earlier. The scheme is implemented by Tiatr Academy of Goa and applications are accepted through offline submission of typed copies with duly filled application forms.

Eligibility

Basic Requirements
  • The applicant must write scripts on themes as specified by Tiatr Academy of Goa.
  • The applicant must ensure the script has not been published or performed earlier.
  • The applicant must write original scripts only.
Script Format Requirements
  • The applicant must write scripts in traditional tiatr format.
  • The applicant must include minimum 6 to 7 podd'de in the script.
  • The applicant must include at least 4 Cantos in the script.
  • The applicant must write scripts in Konkani language using Roman script.
  • The applicant must ensure comedy is inter-related to the main plot (however, comedy may be absent in religious tiatr).
Content Guidelines
  • The applicant must ensure scripts do not contain adverse remarks against any Governments/Individuals/Institutions.
  • The applicant must ensure scripts do not contain content against caste, creed and religion that may hurt sentiments.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields. Attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required). Sign the application form and mention the date.
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to -

Post-Application Processes

Step 1:**** Evaluation Process
The submitted scripts will be evaluated by a panel of judges appointed by Tiatr Academy of Goa, whose decision will be final and binding. The judging process will assess scripts based on quality, format compliance, and adherence to specified themes.
Step 2: Result Declaration and Prize Distribution
Winners will be announced after the judging process is completed, and the first three best scripts will receive cash prizes and certificates as specified. Prize winners will be contacted for any additional procedures related to publication opportunities.
