Details

The Delhi Family Benefit Scheme provides financial assistance to families who have lost their primary breadwinner. This scheme aims to support families during difficult times by offering a one-time payment to help them cope with the loss. It is specifically designed for residents of Delhi who meet certain eligibility criteria.

3. Proof of death –any one of the documents listed below
Death certificate issued by the Registrar Births &Deaths
Receipt issued by authority at cremation Ground/ graveyard
Certificate issued by Hospital at the time of Death
In case the death has occurred outside Delhi or in a village with no receipt of cremation ground certificate of Block Development Officer (BDO) of the village can also be accepted.

4. A self – declaration by the applicant regarding his/her family income as given in the form.
5. The form also needs to be recommended by a Gazetted Officer of Central/State Govt. or MP/MLA and the accompanying documents should also be attested.
6. In case “No Documentary Evidence’ is available with the applicant in r/o proof of residence, i) the applicant will need to produce statements of any of the two witnesses from the following list,
stating the period of applicant’s length of stay in Delhi
Public representative such as MP of the area, MLA of the area,
President or General Secretary of RWA of the locality
Two neighbors of the applicant with their contact details
Registered omen SHGs,/ Mahila Mandals’ President or General Secretary
ICDS Supervisors/ASHA workers of the Govt.
Gazetted Officer of the Central/Delhi Govt. ii) Along with the witness’s statement, the relevant document for photo identity proof, residence and length of stay for the witnesses shall also have to be appended with the application clearly showing that the witnesses themselves have been around in the same area for the number of years they claim to have known the applicant. This would apply for all except Public representative such as MP/MLA of the area. Note : Decision will be taken within 45 days on all the applications received under the scheme.

Benefits

  • The family benefit of ₹20,000will be paid as a one-time lump sum through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge System directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts

Eligibility

  1. The death of the primary breadwinner occurred between the ages of 18 to 59 years.
  2. Family income must not exceed ₹1,00,000 per annum from all sources.
  3. The applicant must be a resident of Delhi for at least 5 years prior to application submission.
  4. Must have a singly-operated bank account for receiving payments through PFMS, with some exceptions for minors or those under legal guardianship.
  5. The applicant should have an Aadhaar number or be enrolled with UIDAI.
