Details

An important Circular No.TNC/1064/85886/ dated 22 October 1965 was issued by the Gujarat State Revenue Department for obtaining the right of Permanent Enumeration under Article 43 of the Act. According to Article 43 of the Ganotdhara, all Ganotias were entitled to land according to limited rights. In 1967, this section 43 was amended by inserting sub-section 1, granting permanent members purchase rights on Farmers' Day. According to section-43(1) of the Bombay Land Administration and Agricultural Land Act, any land or interest in land sold by a land surveyor to any person through sale, gift, exchange, mortgage, lease, or transfer, or acceptance by a written deed of transfer, may be approved by the State Government through a general or special order. Prior approval of the Collector must be obtained by paying the fixed amount of compensation.
