Details
The Swadhar Greh Scheme was initiated by the Ministry of Women and Child Development of the Government of India to provide shelter to women living in difficult circumstances. Under this scheme, women are provided with shelter, food, clothing, counseling services, training, health-related assistance, and legal support to help them reintegrate into society, enabling them to live with dignity and confidence.

Eligibility
Women above the age of 18 from the following categories can benefit from this scheme:
- Abandoned women without any social or economic support.
- Women who have become homeless due to natural disasters and do not receive any social or economic assistance.
- Women released from jail who have no family and are socio-economically disadvantaged.
- Women suffering from domestic violence, family stress, or conflict who are forced to leave home without maintenance, and those facing exploitation or legal issues due to marital discord without any special protection measures.
- Women rescued from illegal trafficking or brothels, or those who have escaped from places of exploitation, and women affected by HIV/AIDS without social or economic support.
Exclusions
Women who do not fall under the specified categories or who are not above the age of 18 are not eligible for this scheme.
