The Swachh Bharat Mission Urban (SBM-U) 2.0 focuses on the construction of individual toilets, public toilets, and community toilets, along with solid waste management. It aims to strengthen urban local bodies to control, design, and operate all sanitation-related arrangements. The mission promotes the recycling of municipal solid waste through scientific processes and encourages private sector participation in capital expenditure and sanitation-related expenses.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants include:
- New independent households
- All new households migrating to urban areas
- Households with previous access to community toilets wishing to have their own
- Households with insanitary latrines
Note: Families that have previously received funds for IHHL construction under any earlier scheme are not eligible for additional funds.

Families that have previously received funds for toilet construction under any earlier scheme are not eligible.
