Details

The Supplementary Nutrition Program aims to improve the nutritional status of children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. Implemented by the Women and Child Development Department, the scheme focuses on enhancing maternal and child nutrition, reducing the prevalence of preterm or low birth weight babies, and decreasing infant mortality rate (IMR) and maternal mortality rate (MMR).

Benefits

  • - Children aged 6 months to 3 years: 7 packets per month (125 grams per day per child)
  • Severely underweight children aged 3 to 6 years: 4 packets per month (71 grams per day per child)
  • Pregnant and lactating mothers: 4 packets per month (145 grams per day per beneficiary)
