The scheme “State Level Awards for Divyang Persons” has been implemented by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand, to honor the exceptional achievements and contributions of persons with disabilities in various fields. Under this scheme, a cash prize of ₹8,000/-, along with a medal and a certificate of appreciation, is awarded to outstanding individuals in categories such as disabled employees, outstanding sportspersons, and best self-employed service providers. The awards are distributed annually on the occasion of World Disability Day (December 3) to recognize and encourage excellence among persons with disabilities.

- The applicant should be a resident of Uttarakhand.
- The applicant should be a person with a disability.
- The applicant should have verifiable records of achievements or work.
- The applicant should be in any one of the following categories:
- Differently-abled (Divyang) employee
- Outstanding Sportsperson
- Best Self-Employed Service Provider

These awards are distributed on the occasion of World Disabled Day, observed on 3rd December. For these awards, applications are invited through newspapers.
The applicant must submit the application form to the office of the District Social Welfare Officer along with the disability certificate and details of the special work done by them. After the necessary verification at the district level, and on the recommendation of the Director, Social Welfare, the Screening Committee at the government level finalizes the eligible person in each category. The award includes a certificate, a medal, and a bank draft/cheque of ₹8,000/-.
