Details
The scheme "Special Incentive to ST (P)/OBC/MOBC Meritorious Students" by the Directorate of Welfare of Plains Tribes and Backward Classes, Government of Assam, aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from Scheduled Tribes (Plains), Other Backward Classes, and More Other Backward Classes communities in Assam. The scheme offers monetary grants to students who achieve high academic marks in Matriculation, 10+2, Graduation, or Post Graduation examinations. To be eligible, the applicant must belong to the ST (P)/OBC/MOBC community and meet the specified percentage criteria for their respective educational level. Eligibility
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (Plain) / Other Backward Class / More Other Backward Class community of Assam.
- The applicant must qualify as one of the following:
- Secured 80% or above in Matriculation (Class 10th).
- Secured 75% or above in 10+2 examination.
- Secured 70% or above in Graduation.
- Secured 65% or above in Post Graduation.
*The applicant cannot claim the benefit as a right; approval depends on fund availability and Selection Committee discretion.
Application Process
Offline
Step 1: The Directorate of Welfare of Plains Tribes and Backward Classes, Assam, will advertise the scheme in print and electronic media, along with the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: The interested applicant should take print of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 3: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 4: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the Director, WPT & BC, Assam.
*Applicants are advised to retain a copy of the submitted application and acknowledgment for future reference.
Scrutiny and Approval
Step 1: Applications are scrutinized by the Selection Committee.
Step 2: Approved beneficiaries are selected based on merit and fund availability.
