Details
The Solar Power Pump Project, under the Prime Minister's KUSUM scheme, aims to provide standalone solar energy pump systems with a capacity of up to 7.5 HP to farmers for irrigation purposes. This initiative is implemented by the Horticulture Department of Rajasthan in collaboration with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. The project offers a 60% subsidy to eligible farmers who do not have access to agricultural electricity connections and rely on diesel pumps or other alternative means for irrigation. If a farmer wishes to install a 10 HP pump, they will only receive a subsidy for a 7.5 HP pump. The project is part of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JLNNSM) and aims to enhance irrigation facilities for farmers.
