Skill Development

The scheme "Skill Development" implemented by the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology aims to enhance the practical knowledge and research capabilities of students pursuing Earth Science and allied subjects. Through this scheme, specialised summer and winter training programmes are offered to postgraduate and integrated postgraduate students in disciplines such as geochemistry, sedimentology, tectonics, geomorphology, environmental geoscience, and paleontology.

• Research Experience: Provides opportunities for self-sponsored research work, allowing students to gain practical experience in Earth Sciences. - Seasonal Training: Offers valuable summer and winter training programs, enhancing practical skills and knowledge in specialized geological disciplines. - Exposure to Diverse Fields: Exposes students to a wide array of sub-disciplines within Earth Sciences, such as structural geology, geochemistry, glaciology, engineering geology, palaeontology, and environmental geology.

1. The applicant must possess a postgraduate degree in any discipline of Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or allied fields.
2. The applicant may also be pursuing an integrated postgraduate degree course and should be in the fourth or fifth year of the curriculum.
3. The applicant must be from fields such as geophysics, geochemistry, structural geology, sedimentology, paleontology, environmental geoscience, and related disciplines.
