Details

The Sindhu Darshan Pilgrimage Scheme provides financial assistance to pilgrims traveling to the Sindhu River in Ladakh, India. The scheme reimburses 50% of the expenses incurred during the pilgrimage, with a maximum limit of ₹10,000 per pilgrim. The scheme aims to promote the cultural heritage of the Sindhu region and facilitate the participation of pilgrims in the annual Sindhu Darshan Festival, which is celebrated in June.

Eligibility

  1. The pilgrim must be a native resident of Rajasthan.
  2. The age must be at least 21 years.
  3. The applicant should not be living on alms.
  4. The applicant should not be an income taxpayer.
  5. The applicant should not be a retired employee or officer of the central or state government or local bodies.

Exclusions

Individuals living on alms, income taxpayers, and retired government employees are not eligible.

Application Process

Online

  1. The application process will be online, with dates announced via departmental notifications.
  2. Applications must be submitted within two months of the pilgrimage, along with required documents.
  3. For offline applications, the form must be uploaded from the departmental website and submitted to the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Devasthan Department.
  4. Required documents include:
    • Certified photocopy of the Rajasthan domicile certificate.
    • Photocopy of Aadhaar card or Jan Aadhar card.
    • Proof of actual expenses incurred during the pilgrimage (tickets, receipts, etc.).
    • Verified certificate of travel from a registered trust or committee.
    • Photocopy of the Inner Line Permit issued for Khardung La Pass.
