The "Sikkim Grant of Scholarship to Students with Disabilities Scheme, 2014" was launched by the Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim. Eligibility
- The student's age should be 5 years and above.
- The student must be disabled, with disability percentage of 40% or above as certified by Medical Authorities as defined in section 2 (t) of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995.
- The student must be a regular student at a recognized College, University, or School of a recognized Board.
- The student should pass the examination in one attempt during a particular academic session, If fails the examination during an academic session are not eligible for the scholarship for the same class in the next academic year.
- The student must not be receiving any other similar scholarship from other departments or ministries.

Application Process
Offline
Step-01: The interested student writes an application on plain paper and submits it to the Social Welfare Division.
Step-02: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step-03: Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
Scrutiny and Approval:
The Selection Committee will scrutinize the applications. Upon satisfactory verification of documents, approval will be granted by the Secretary.
