The "Sikkim Grant of Scholarship to Students with Disabilities Scheme, 2014" was launched by the Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim. Eligibility

  1. The student's age should be 5 years and above.
  2. The student must be disabled, with disability percentage of 40% or above as certified by Medical Authorities as defined in section 2 (t) of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995.
  3. The student must be a regular student at a recognized College, University, or School of a recognized Board.
  4. The student should pass the examination in one attempt during a particular academic session, If fails the examination during an academic session are not eligible for the scholarship for the same class in the next academic year.
  5. The student must not be receiving any other similar scholarship from other departments or ministries.

Application Process

Offline

Step-01: The interested student writes an application on plain paper and submits it to the Social Welfare Division.
Step-02: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step-03: Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).

Scrutiny and Approval:
The Selection Committee will scrutinize the applications. Upon satisfactory verification of documents, approval will be granted by the Secretary.
