Details

The 'Shudh Ke Liye Yudh' campaign is being conducted in the state to prevent adulteration. Special campaigns are organized during various festivals such as Holi, Diwali, and Raksha Bandhan. Under this campaign, all types of food products are tested for adulteration. Appropriate action is taken if adulteration is found. The Rajasthan Food Safety Authority has been established to ensure the availability of pure materials and to take strict measures against adulterators. To strengthen this further, the Commissionerate of Food Safety and Drug Control has been formed. Currently, 11 food laboratories and 9 mobile food laboratories are operational, and the construction of 7 food laboratories is underway, along with the procurement of 25 mobile food laboratories. It is proposed to establish Food Safety and Drug Control Offices at the district level, similar to the integration of Food Safety and Drug Control offices at the state level. Additionally, the announcement has been made to create 100 new positions for Food Safety Officers. Each district is proposed to be provided with a Mobile Testing Lab. Digital Weigh Bridges will be made available at ration shops and connected to Point of Sale (PoS) machines, ensuring that NFSA beneficiaries receive their entitled rations. To protect consumer interests and raise awareness among the general public, the establishment of a state-level Facilitation and Mediation Centre in Jaipur is proposed at a cost of 20 crore rupees. In the second phase, the establishment of these Centres at the divisional level will be done based on the 'Hub and Spoke Model'.
