The scheme "Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojna" by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat, aims to provide financial assistance to senior citizens for pilgrimage travel.   • Upto ₹7,000/- per person for travel by Private Buses. The financial assistance provided is subject to actual travel cost or the above-mentioned amount, whichever is lower. Only group travel is allowed (minimum 20 pilgrims required)

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a senior citizen aged 60 years or above.
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
  • The applicant must not have availed of the benefit previously under this scheme.
  • The applicant must be physically fit to undertake the journey.
  • The pilgrimage must be booked through an authorized travel agent/organizer.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields (details of the authorized travel agent/organizer, details of the pilgrims), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to your nearest District Social Welfare Office.
*Retain a copy of the submitted application for reference.
